Hampstead rooftop
Maintenance of the double-pitched roof presented the opportunity to develop the two separate roofspaces. After an initial Listed Buildings Application to replace the double pitched roof with a mansard was withdrawn, further proposals to infill the valley between the front and rear pitched roof with a glazed structure were successful. The two separate roof spaces were combined into a single room with usable headroom. A new helical staircase brings sunlight down to the centre of the plan. The new glazed structure opens up previously unseen views across Hampstead Heath and towards The City.
